All Good Things Must End? Some Bad News, and Some Good

One of the benefits the Practice Management Assistance Program provides to Alabama State Bar members is the Discount Bookstore. Through an arrangement with ABA Publishing, we have been able to offer a 40% discount on any of the great books ABA Publishing and, particularly, the Law Practice Management Section have to offer, such as Ben Schorr’s The Lawyer’s Guide to Outlook 2007. The bad news is that this discount program is going away.

The good news is that your discount won’t entirely disappear. ABA Publishing is replacing the old program with a new one, which will provide our members with a 15% discount on anything purchased through the ABA Web Store. So the price you will get in the future won’t be quite as good, but the discount will now extend to all materials offered through the Web Store – not just books. This means that you will also be able to get a 15% discount on ABA CLE materials and other products. When we get this set up and running, we’ll make an announcement about how to find it on the ASB web site, and post the discount code you’ll need on our Members’ Only page.

The second bit of good news is that the 40% discount isn’t going away immediately, so you still have time to take advantage on the more generous discount on ABA Publishing’s books for a while longer. Go to the ABA Web Store, select your titles, and then contact Kristi Skipper at the Practice Management Assistance Program (334) 517-2242. She’ll let you know how and how much to pay for the books with your discount, and see that they are drop-shipped directly to you. Don’t delay. Take advantage of this good thing because, before you know it, it’ll be gone.
