Domestic Violence - Staff Attorney

Legal Services Alabama (LSA), is one of the largest statewide law firms in Alabama. As a non-profit law firm, our mission is to serve low-income people by providing civil legal aid and by promoting collaboration to find solutions to problems of poverty. LSA seeks applications from qualified attorneys committed to supporting our mission. This is a full time position located in our Montgomery Regional Office.

The attorney will provide community outreach and civil legal representation to address the needs of domestic violence clients. Much of the legal work will focus on immediate safety needs of the client to include protection orders but the attorney will assist the client in other areas of legal work that include housing, consumer protection, education, custody, employment, public assistance needs, and other priorities established by the Board of Directors.

Qualifications: Admitted to practice in the State of Alabama or willing to take necessary steps to be admitted to Alabama bar within 6 months of employment. Sensitivity towards low-income population. Spanish language proficiency desirable.
