Change can sometimes be difficult, but change also brings wonderful new opportunities.
Casemaker, the Alabama State Bar’s FREE legal research member benefit, will be upgraded on Monday, March 5th, to provide you with new features and functionality that will greatly improve your legal research experience. Alabama is one of the first of the Casemaker consortium states to make the move to this enhanced system.
But don’t worry! You’ll have three months to get used to the new interface before the old Casemaker 2.2 system goes away for good. If you find yourself stumped by the new system, customer assistance is just a phone call away at (877) 659-0801 or you can revert to Casemaker 2.2 by clicking on the “Return to 2.2” link in the upper right hand corner of the new Casemaker search window. A new user manual will be posted on the Members page and free one hour training webinars are also available, with CLE credit pending.
The new version of Casemaker offers many of the improved features that Alabama attorneys have been asking for:
- Faster search results with a single, Google-like search field
- Personalized search history – save and reuse your research
- Custom research folders organized your way.
If you’ve already been using the Casemaker Elite Beta, the first time you log in to new Casemaker you’ll be given the opportunity to transfer your folders and personalized search history.
If you have any questions about using the new Casemaker free legal research member benefit, please call Kristi Skipper in the Practice Management Assistance Program at (334) 517-2242 or email Casemaker@alabar.org.
