Sam W. Irby Installed as President-Elect; Board of Bar Commissioners Elects Officers and Council
MONTGOMERY-The Alabama State Bar announced on Saturday, July 15, that Sam W. Irby of Irby & Heard P.C. (Fairhope) assumed office as president-elect of the 18,100-member organization. Diandra S. Debrosse of Zarzaur Mujumdar & Debrosse LLC (Birmingham) was elected by the Board of Bar Commissioners (BBC) as vice president.
Also elected by the BBC were members of the Executive Council, including T. Thomas Perry, Jr. of Manley Traeger Perry Stapp & Compton (Demopolis); George R. Parker of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP (Montgomery); and R. Cooper Shattuck (Tuscaloosa).
Irby will serve one year as president-elect before assuming the presidency in June 2018, after current President Augusta S. Dowd of White, Arnold & Dowd P.C. (Birmingham) completes her term. Executive Council members begin serving immediately.
